One month before President Rodrigo Duterte steps down from office, the Presidential Communications Operations Office, through the Office of Global Media and Public Affairs (OGMPA), will highlight an overview of President Rodrigo Duterte’s achievements at the Duterte Legacy Summit, which will take place at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City from today (May 30) to tomorrow (May 31).
Martin Andanar, PCOO secretary and acting presidential spokesperson, said in a statement:
“The two-day event will be our last act of thanking and recognizing the ‘tapang at malasakit’ governance of President Duterte, his Cabinet members, and all public servants, which have brought impactful changes and meaningful developments to the Filipino people,”
The Duterte administration’s six Cabinet clusters will report on their accomplishments centered on the government’s 10-point socioeconomic agenda, which includes Security, Justice, and Peace, Infrastructure Development, Economic Development, Climate Change Adaptation, Mitigation, and Disaster Risk Reduction, Participatory Governance, and Human Development and Poverty Reduction.
Pres. Duterte is expected to deliver a personal message regarding the conference via video, with Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea providing the keynote address and Cabinet Secretary Melvin Matibag closing statements.
Secretary Andanar will also release the PCOO Legacy book, which will highlight the agency’s successes and much improved operations. The government’s enhanced and increased communication strategies are also featured in the book to reach more Filipinos.
In addition to that, there will be a Duterte Legacy Photo Exhibit, organized by PCOO and the Bureau of Communications Services (BCS), that will feature noteworthy and remarkable events witnessed by the government since July 2016.
